A Message from our President / CEO

Bader Philanthropies stands in awe and celebrates the compassion that is spreading throughout the world.

Our community partners are meeting the needs of fellow human beings – young and old in Milwaukee, rural Wisconsin communities, Canada, the Czech Republic and Israel. Children are learning about history and experiencing the arts in person, individuals are making courageous decisions to overcome their substance-use addiction, families are enjoying the comforts of places they now call “home” and people of all ages perfect skills and gain knowledge to contribute to society. Your work behind the scenes and on the front-lines can be challenging from time to time and unpredictable. But, we know you do so with joy and the spirit of making a difference.

It is a privilege to support extraordinary organizations and people committed to serving others with dignity and compassion.

Welcome

A Message from our President / CEO

Over the past year, Bader Philanthropies refined its mission to reflect the Foundation’s what and why. The mission of Bader Philanthropies is to help people and honor the legacy of our founders.

The mission embodies three decades of partnerships that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless people around the world.  It also reminds us that we stand on the broad shoulders of our founders – Helen Daniels Bader; and Isabel and Alfred Bader, who always saw the possibilities and were guided by compassion.  Through their lived experiences, actions and words, they focused on the well-being of others and responded with kindness and action.

We have read, heard, seen and experienced the compassion you bring to your organizations combined with your passion to make the world a better place.  Your individual and our collective acts of compassion are what we celebrate in this year’s report.

Awarding grants is what we do, and compassion is why we do it. Whether it’s funding arts programs that bridge the gap between kids and older adults, or helping people gain skills to attain jobs to raise families, our work helps make life better for people in the communities we serve. Simply put, we connect people with people who can help because that’s the only way real change happens.
